‘Spider-Man’ has message for Filipinos

HOLLYWOOD, California — Since news of typhoon “Yolanda” broke out, Hollywood stars have been actively giving and promoting relief aid, encouraging their fans and supporters to answer the call for help.
At a recent “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” press event, its stars gave special messages for Filipinos who are suffering from the typhoon’s devastation.
Spider-Man himself, Andrew Garfield, became emotional when talking about the plight of the survivors, many of whom continue to face huge challenges to this day.
“The world is thinking of you, and I hope that you get the support and the restructuring and rebuilding and the help that you need,” he said.
“And I hope that America and England and the rest of the world are able to give you that. It’s our duty to, so our thoughts are with you and our love is with you.
“Actor Jamie Foxx added: “[We are] giving our condolences and our prayers to you and your people, everybody over there. It breaks everyone’s hearts to see that. But just to let you know, everyone is sending prayers and all the help that they can.”
In “Spider-Man 2,” Garfield and Emma Stone are joined by Foxx and other new actors.
The much-awaited release of the trailer for “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” is set in December.Fans of the superhero will see his new adventures when the movie hits theaters in April 2014.
