Helping the Victims in Tacloban, Philippines: Typhoon Haiyan and Yolanda hit hard

My family live just north of Tacloban in the Philippines.  Thankfully they are all safe.  But the number of deaths are still on the rise, not to mention the thousands of victims who were badly injured.  My cousin and a few other family members in the Philippines continue to provide aid and relief to those in need.  Although the news is no longer in our media-radar, there is still much to be done in the typhoons’ aftermath.  About a week-and-a-half ago, Canada alone, by private donations raised 15.7 million dollars to the relief fund.  The Canadian government will match that amount.  I am very thankful for the support Canadians are providing, many of which have family who are suffering.  Filipinos are one of the top five highest populations in Toronto alone.  We hold the Philippines close to our heart.  I do too.  For those who live here in Toronto, may…
