Gift-giving for the DAYAW Rites “Paghinumdum ug Pangamuyo” (Remembrance and Prayer)

This December 17 – 21, 2013, the Leyte – Samar Heritage Society, Inc. (LSHSI) and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) will solemnly observe Paghinumdum ug Pangamuyo (“Remembrance and Prayer”), the first part of the DAYAW Indigenous Peoples’ ceremony, with a series of solemn rituals, prayers, story-sharing, and gift distribution in communities in Leyte & Samar that were badly hit by Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda.
On behalf of LSHSI, I personally invite you to join us in prayer and remembrance, as well as in gift-giving, by donating the following useful gift items: (1) SOLAR LAMPS, (2) MATS & MOSQUITO NETS, and (3) arts and crafts kits for children. These gifts will be distributed during the DAYAW ceremonies held from December 17 – 21, 2013 in Tacloban, Palo, Basey, Guian, Hernani and Tanuan.
