After hearing of the devastation caused in the Philippines by Typhoon Haiyan, the Léman Manhattan community was compelled to contribute to the relief efforts.
We are proud to say that through the determination of students, teachers, families and administrators, Léman Manhattan has raised $9,013 for the Philippines relief.
From November 18-22, the Léman Manhattan community held a “Pennies for the People of the Philippines” fund-raising event. The 4th Grade showed tremendous effort and after collecting $3,000, received an award for Community Service.
On Tuesday, November 27, the teaching divisions gathered to support the fund-raising effort through a friendly holiday-themed competition and relay race. Families were asked to sponsor their grade level with a donation. In the Lower School, the 2nd Grade teachers won the relay races, and Middle School science teacher Katy Molnar was the big winner of the Upper School.
