It has been over a month since super typhoon Yolanda struck Central Visayas.

Since then, help from local and international organizations poured for the survivors. Among those damaged due to the typhoon was the University of the Philippines Visayas Tacloban College (UPVTC). Few days after the typhoon ravaged most of the region, UP System President Alfredo Pascual has issued a memorandum order asking other UP campuses to accommodate those students from UP Tacloban who would like to cross register.

“We will address any issue that may arise from this arrangement in due course. In the meantime, let us ensure that our students from UPVTC do not lose this semester,” President Pascual said in the letter. Around 330 students from UP Visayas cross-registered to the Diliman Campus, 20 of which celebrated a thanksgiving mass at the Chapel of the Annunciation with the ABS-CBN community. Before the priest gave his final blessing, Ariane, a third-year college student from Tacloban, took the opportunity to extend their gratitude to all the people who have reached out and helped them.

Their visit to ABS-CBN was capped off by visiting the noontime show “It’s Showtime” studio.
