Christmas: The Holidays in the Aftermath of Yolanda

C360_2013-12-25-08-15-42-459-1I stopped watching television especially the daily news after a week when super typhoon Yolanda hit the province of Leyte Philippines.  Seeing thousands of my fellow countrymen suffering from the devastation Mother Nature brought, gives me a guilt feeling not being able to help them by any chance.  Yes everyone in the Philippines even the world is saying a prayer for the victims, a powerful weapon in times like this but I am afraid it has absolutely no real time effect to lessen the vast daunting human agony,  injury and loss of relatives, loved ones and family members.

Published in the newspapers described how the fragile but strong people of Leyte are seriously doing their best to pick up the pieces of what was left with them.  Holding on to the hope that was almost swept by the storm surges now still burning a strong flame.  When Christmas season has…
